Macrolides, on the other hand, are meant to kill off Cocci bacteria. It is available in oral tablets and effective in hampering the growth of bacteria protein formation and kills them.
Broad Spectrum Antibiotics for Sinus Infection
Broad spectrum antibiotics for sinus infection include penicillin, cephalosporins, Quinolones and Fluoroquinolones. Cephalosporins can be taken orally and are generally given to patients having allergy from penicillin. The side effects can lead to rashes and diarrhoea. This antibiotic is available to be put inside ear too. Penicillin is the most common broad spectrum antibiotic and mainly hampers growth of bacteria. Quinolones and Fluoroquinolones are rarely used antibiotics for sinus infection.
